STUE method clinic on 20.5.2022: Studying social interaction (in games)

A picture of the tabletop game called the Offsetting game.

Welcome to learn and discuss methods for studying social interaction: frame and conversation analysis on 20.5. at 9.30-12.30! The focus of the session is especially on game interaction. The methods are demonstrated with video recording from a recent game session where STUE community researchers played the Offsetting Game.

The session is held F2F in Linna building K110 (Kalevantie 5, Tampere). F2F participants will be served coffee during break. The lectures will also be streamed on zoom, but we  have limited resources to manage a hybrid discussion, so face-to-face discussion takes precedence.

Sign up here by 17.5. at 11.00

The methods presented concentrate on naturally occurring activities as they unfold in their ordinary social or institutional settings. The session is led by STUE Postdoctoral Research Fellows Nina Nygren and Antero Hirvensalo.

Programme:
