Natural language processing (NLP) is a field that analyzes human languages with algorithms. NLP tools offer new ways to process textual data in studies of other fields. For example, the tools can help to interpret a large dataset of survey answers or qualitative interviews.
The session is led by Pihla Toivanen, a doctoral student in the Department of Digital Humanities, University of Helsinki. She develops ways to support qualitative research with NLP methods in her PhD thesis.
The session is held in Linna building, room K110 (Kalevantie 5, Tampere). You can also follow the session online, via Zoom. However, please note that one-to-one assistance in the guided practice can be provided only to F2F participants.
