About me

Eveliina Asikainen is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Pedagogical Innovations and leads the team Sustainable Education. She is a MSc in Biology, Doctor of Administrative Sciences in Environmental Policy and Qualified Professional Teacher.

Asikainen’s research interests combine creatively pedagogy, active citizenship and ecological transition for sustainable society. She has been involved in projects dealing with suburban nature (Doctoral Thesis 2014, in Finnish ), urban food production , experiential learning in nature, and sustainable care.  

Asikainen has been working as a university lecturer in environmental sciences since 2006 (ecology, forestry, environmental engineering, environmental policy) and sustainability specialist in higher education since 2012. She started as a teacher educator with emphasis on sustainability in 2019. 

Asikainen’s key expertises are participatory methods, promotion of sustainability competences and transformative learning.

Sanna Ruhalahti, a Principal lecturer at Tampere University of Applied Sciences (Applied Research Center), brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to her role. Here is an overview of professional expertise: 

Educational Background:  I hold a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Lapland, focusing on media pedagogy. My academic journey also includes a master's in entrepreneurship and business competence. 

Teaching Experience: With over 25 years of teaching experience, I have been actively involved in professional and vocational teacher education since 2007. And, I deeply understand online and remote learning, having spent two decades in this field. 

Current Roles and Projects:

• Teacher Educator: I currently work as a teacher educator and researcher, imparting knowledge and skills to future educators. 
• Education Developer: I contribute to various educational development initiatives, including Digivisio 2030 coordination and TAMK's pedagogical development program. 
• Academy of Educators for Sustainable Future (EduSTA): I am part of this academy, focusing on developing digital and sustainable education practices. 

Research Interests:

• Higher Education Pedagogy: exploring effective teaching methods and learning design in higher education 
• Deeper Learning Outcomes: nvestigating ways to promote meaningful and profound learning experiences. 
• Learning Design: contributing to designing effective learning processes and environments. 
• Dialogical Skills in Learning Communities: researching communication skills within educational settings. 
• Online Learning: various aspects of online learning are interesting, including MOOCs, OERs, mLearning, PLEs, ePortfolios, and digital open badges.

Liisa’s work and research interests include internationalization, digital literacies, pedagogical leadership, curriculum renewal, course design, identity development & collaborative learning.

Susanne is a senior lecturer in Education at the Department of Education and Special Education, University of Gothenburg, Sweden. Research interests are teaching and learning in vocational education and teacher education, and school development.

About me

Dr. Němejc is the Director of the Institute of Education and Communication and a teacher of subjects such as project management or evaluation in education. In research, he focuses on the development of new teaching aids and applications, evaluation in education, and effective use of educational technologies. Each academic year, he develops and coordinates a university-wide project aimed at quality assessment and assurance in education and study support at the CZU. He is also a member of the Quality Assurance Board of the “EuroLeague for Life Sciences”.

Ms. Jordánová is the Deputy Director for International Relations at the Institute of Education and Communication. Since 2007, she has been in charge of student and staff exchanges within the Erasmus+ programme and managed more than twenty international projects investigated with the help of ESF funds, Erasmus+, Comenius, Leonardo, Grundtvig, Tempus, Erasmus+, and EEA grants.

Ms. Sněhotová works as a Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Education and Communication. She also works as a psychologist and an organizational consultant. She graduated from psychology at the Charles University in Prague. She has created and participated in the development of several standardized psychological methods.

Dr. Smékalová graduated in pedagogy at the Faculty of Education and holds a PhD in adult education. She is the Deputy Director for Education and the Head of the Department of Lifelong Learning and Study Support at the Institute of Education and Communication. Her professional work is focused on transferable and professional competences, didactics, and “andro-didactics”. She is also a member of the “Czech Education Research Association” and a member of the Scientific Board at the “Paidagogos” professional journal. 

About me

Dr. Votava graduated in general pedagogy and holds a PhD in social pedagogy. Experienced in teacher training and educational research, he has taught international students within several projects (EMMA, PROSOLVA, ACROSS, BEGIN, RESUME, …) and trained academic staff in France, Georgia, Cambodia, Mongolia, Turkey, and Uzbekistan… His research topics are critical pedagogy, social aspects in the classroom, and collaborative learning.
