ErasmusDays: Highlighting skills with digital open badges – visit EduSTA project’s pop-up in Tampere on 10 October, 2023

ErasmusDays pop up event.

Are you a potential critical developer? Or a potential future thinking catalyser? Or perhaps a conscious change agent? Digital open badges are a great way to acquire and demonstrate skills. Come and visit our pop-up in the foyer of the ballroom on Tuesday 10th October 2023 at 11–13 at Tampere University of Applied Sciences. We will tell you more about the open digital badges that we are developing in the project. At the same time, you can take a nice selfie and grab a laptop sticker to remind you to accumulate your skills and to make them visible.

2023 is the European Year of Skills in the European Union. Skills are also the theme of ErasmusDays week celebrating Erasmus+ programme, EU’s programme to support education, training, youth, and sport in Europe. TAMK is involved in several projects funded by the programme. Erasmus+ is also familiar to many people for international student and staff exchanges.

The #ErasmusDays, celebrating Erasmus+, will take place from 9–14 October 2023

More than 4000 different events will take place around the world over the six days. The days will focus on skills, international mobility, and European cooperation.

Share a picture taken at the pop-up with the tag #ErasmusDays. The Finnish National Agency for Education will also be highlighting events in Finland on its social media channels.

What is EduSTA?

The Academy for Sustainable Future Educators (EduSTA) is an Erasmus+ Teacher Academies funded project. EduSTA builds a community and creates open digital badge-driven learning pathways for teachers’ sustainability competences supported by multimodal learning modules.

TAMK coordinates the international project, which involves higher education partners from Spain, Sweden, the Netherlands, and the Czech Republic. The collaboration result will be a framework for sustainability competences for teachers. The project will also produce learning materials, courses and learning environments to support the competences.

“Our project is a great support for the sustainability competences of professional teachers. In Tampere, Tredu operates as a teacher training institution, and we work closely with them. The package we are developing is suitable for teacher training, in-service training and for demonstrating previously acquired competence”, says Project Manager Eveliina Asikainen.

She says that the international project has already contributed to building the expertise and common understanding of all parties involved.

“We have achieved a lot during the first year. The piloting will start next year, and then we will invite TAMK’s teachers to participate. Welcome to our pop-up to talk about skills and making them visible.”

See you in the foyer of the ballroom at TAMK on 10 October 2023 at 11–13!
