Summary

The aim of SMART ART - Changing Skills in the Performing Arts project is the multisectoral and cross-cutting development of skills in digitization and hybrid productions of the performing arts in the more internationalizing environments. The project is implemented by the coordinator Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) and the partner Tampere University (TAU).

Project time: 1.11.2021-31.10.2023

 

The aim is to target especially in the strengthening of the representatives in Tampere-Pirkanmaa Region and the development of the employment in the field. International collaboration and sustainable development included. Target groups are artists and talents of different kind of performing arts and other professionals in the field these skills and competences are needed in the time of change. Project concentrates especially in performing arts organizations and staff members at Pirkanmaa area, including also representatives of other fields connected to this chosen area, e.g. IT and digital development companies.

The education offers current information, skills, tools and ideas to utilize digital solutions to reach new target groups and audience and in development of productions considering the needs and interests of the customers and target groups.

 

The project goal is to build a new collaborative and multisectoral model of digitalization and hybrid productions together with institutions of higher education and work life, to secure the relevant competence development possibilities in the future.

 

Concrete objectives

  • Map out and focusing the competence needs of performing arts in the fields of digital development, hybrid productions, internationalization, new business models and solutions and multisectoral collaboration
  • Develop and pilot multidisciplinary training program for representatives of performing arts and other actors from the creative sectors at Pirkanmaa
  • Build a model for multisectoral collaboration including work life and higher education, to be able to guarantee sustainable competence development and cooperative development regarding the demands of digitalization and hybrid productions

Actions

  • mapping and transnational benchmark of the competence needs of performing arts, best practices of how the competence should be developed based on the needs of target group and focused next steps
  • development, piloting and evaluation of the training program for performing arts
  • building a sustainable collaboration model for performing arts future competence development together with organizations from the field of performing arts and higher education institutions

Results

  • report and transnational comparison of future competence needs of performing arts in more digitalized and transnational operational environment
  • multisectoral network at Pirkanmaa, which collaborates to forecast, support, develop and evaluate the competence needs of performing arts and future solutions of competence development
  • model of pilot training, evaluation report and furthers suggestions included
  • concrete competence development of participants, e.g. organizations and staff members of performing arts and affiliated fields
  • collaboration model for actors of performing arts and higher education institutions to secure the relevant competence development possibilities in the future
