Every year Finnish higher education institutions welcome hundreds of international researchers. Many of them come with their families. This new guide helps the newcomers find their way around the practicalities and everyday life in Finland. The guide is available on Euraxess.fi. You can access the guide here.

In the digital guide you will find an extensive set of information relevant to

  • Finnish formalities and practicalities
  • Finnish culture and language
  • health care
  • work culture
  • diversity and inclusion in academia
  • support for spouses
  • families with children, and
  • cultural events and hobbies.

There are text, links and videos for you to explore. You can also find a list of learning resources to start learning Finnish!

The guide was written for incoming international researchers and staff members and their families by the HEI LIFE subproject 1 at Tampere University and Tampere University of Applied Sciences.
