The project examines management in municipalities. The project creates a new understanding of competences required for a knowledge-based management dialogue and the necessary organizational capabilities in municipalities. The project produces new empirical research data and broadens the public sector productivity debate, especially in terms of social and economic sustainability. In addition, management practices are co-created to coordinate and utilise operational and financial information.
The project is carried out by the public finance management research group of the University of Tampere and the Department of Social and Health Management of the University of Eastern Finland.
