Background
The “Generative AI Supporting Business (GENT)” project focuses on bringing expertise in generative AI and its large language models to companies in the Satakunta region. The aim of the project is to create AI-assisted trials targeted at businesses and organizations in the region. The goal is to enhance AI knowledge and promote awareness of AI tools among Satakunta-based actors through various experimental environments and pilot projects.
Goal
The project will conduct experiments utilizing generative AI for areas of (business) operations identified by companies and organizations where there is room for improvement in development and efficiency. Through these experiments, participants will receive concrete, relevant, and easily adoptable examples of how to leverage and apply generative AI in their business operations. With the support of the project implementer, these trials will also provide companies and organizations with knowledge regarding the skills and tools needed to harness AI applications effectively.
Impact
Through the project, local companies will have the opportunity to experiment with and utilize AI applications for the development and digitalization of their business operations, as well as for enhancing productivity and optimizing investments. The opportunities provided by generative AI offer companies a new method for maintaining and strengthening competitiveness, as well as for boosting productivity and resource efficiency.
Funding

Partners and co-operators
The Pori unit of Tampere University manages the project activities, and its researchers and experts will conduct AI-assisted experiments with companies and organizations in the region through co-development methods. The solutions, materials, and actions developed within the project will be available to all companies operating in Satakunta and can be tailored to meet their specific needs. The project serves as a practical example of collaboration among Satakunta-based (SME) companies, the public sector, and research and educational organizations.
