A fair and sustainable data economy as a competitive advantage for universities

FairDatAct project brings together manufacturing, health, built environment, and business to develop data-related research, development, and innovation capabilities in higher education. The FAIR principles will play an important role in the project. These principles are designed to make data Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Re-usable.

Artificial intelligence (AI) and data are changing society and our lives – they also bring skills challenges

We bring research and education at TAMK to a new level by providing added value and skilled and competent personnel in the industrial technology, built environment, business, social and health sectors.

The project will focus on:

1. Use and exploitation of industrial data in manufacturing;

2. Use of built environment data for energy-efficient construction, among other things;

3. Register data in the health sector;

4. Using data to add value to business; and

5. Ethical FAIR principles for data management.

A use case will be built around each theme. The use cases will also seek to identify commonalities between sectors for joint research and training openings.
