PhD Rosi Enroos is a postdoctoral researcher in social work in the Faculty of Social Sciences. She examines family relations in the context of care order decision-making questioning how do family relations (and do they) influence consent and objection expressed by the individual family members?
Raija Huhtanen
Raija Huhtanen is Professor of Public Law in the Faculty of Management. Generally, her research has focused on issues concerning administrative law, social welfare law, and social security law. In this project she is interested in child welfare law and examines care order decision-making process from the viewpoint of voluntariness and coercion analyzing, for example, the prerequisites for a valid consent.
Johanna Korpinen
PhD Johanna Korpinen is a postdoctoral researcher in social work in the Faculty of Social Sciences. She examines capacity in the context of care order decision making exploring how the line in decision-making capacity is drawn when consent and objection is negotiated.
Tuula-Riitta Välikoski
PhD Tuula-Riitta Välikoski is an adjunct professor in legal communiction in the University of Eastern Finland, and a senior lecturer in communication in the University of Tampere. Her expertise covers listening and professional communication in different institutional settings. In this project she examines what the interaction between parents and social workers (and other participants) is like and how it exemplifies institutional communication in the consent-objection negotiations.
Tuija Eronen
PhD Tuija Eronen is a university lecturer in social work in the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Pori unit. She examines care order decision-making from the social workers’ perspective questioning what strengths and shortcomings the parallel use of two different types of care orders (voluntary and involuntary care order) means to social work professionals.
Susanna Hoikkala
Susanna Hoikkala examines care order decision-making from the perspective of children’s rights by asking how they are negotiated and taken into consideration within the process.

Essi Julin
Essi Julin is a PhD candidate in social work in the Faculty of Social Sciences. Her study Investigating Child Abuse focuses on inter-organizational and multi-professional child abuse investigation in Finland from a parent perspective.
Minna Kuusela is a PhD candidate in social work in the Faculty of Social Sciences. She examines Finnish consent based, voluntary care order decision-making process, especially the responsibility of the child welfare offices’ team managers.
Tuuli Lamponen
Tuuli Lamponen is a PhD candidate in social work in the Faculty of Social Sciences. Her study examines social workers’ decision-making in the situations of emergency placement. Emergency removal can be defined as a public authority intervention to the family sphere and to clients’ self-determination, as the decision of emergency removal does not require consent of the child or parents.
