Approximate Computing Research Excellence Award for PhD Students

The APROPOS committee is delighted to invite nominations for the upcoming Approximate Computing Research Excellence Award for PhD Students, which will recognize the most influential article on approximate computing published by a PhD student between 2021 and 2023.

Key Information:

Eligibility: PhD student conducting research in EU within 2021-2023, being the primary author of an influential open-access journal article on approximate computing research published in 2021-2023.
Nomination Deadline: 24.01.2024 (hard deadline)
We are seeking nominations for outstanding contributions that have significantly impacted the field of approximate computing. The award decision will be made by the Scientific Control Committee (SCC) of APROPOS project, which will be complemented by additional members (by the APROPOS board decision) in cases of conflicts of interest.

Award Content:

  • Prize of 1000 EUR net for the winner
  • Award Certificate
  • Public announcement of the prize

The committee may (or may not) grant additional official recognitions of excellence for runner-up nominees, without a monetary prize.

Nomination Process:

  • Nominee’s Name and Surname.
  • Nominee’s E-Mail Address.
  • Article title and full bibliographic information (authors, journal, date, etc.).
  • Brief statement outlining the article’s impact in the field.
  • Link to the Open Access paper.
  • Nominee’s Google Scholar Profile link.
  • Nominee’s LinkedIn Profile link.
  • Letter of recommendation from the supervisor (to be delivered over email).
