XR-SPACE Results Seminar

XR-SPACE results seminar was held on November 6, 2025, at Paidia – Living Lab of Play of Tampere universities community at Nokia Arena in Tampere. Project partners presented results of their development work done on the project. The event was co-organized with Finnish Industrial Internet Forum - FIIF.

XR-SPACE results seminar gathered dozens of participants both at Paidia as well as online. Besides the presentations participants at Paidia had the opportunity to experience demos from project partners as well as network and exchange ideas with other attendees.

""Professor, XR-SPACE Consortium Leader Markku Turunen from University of Tampere gave an introduction about the project. Emre Aksu, Research Manager from Nokia Technologies,  presented the latest news from the multimedia research in Nokia. Professor Jarno Vanne from Tampere University in turn spoke about volumetric video technologies and real-time immersive communication. Managing Director of the Simulator Business Creanex at Gofore Juha Lindfors talked about enhanced usability of XR technologies in simulator training.

Arto Helovuo, Head of Compliance and Business Development at Finnair, spoke about the utilization of XR in multi-pilot training and Juha Vuorenalho, Innovation and Collaboration Coordinator at Saab, about the exploring of immersive learning in multi-domain ground training. Finally, R&D Manager at Helsinki XR Center Santeri Saarinen from Metropolia University of Applied Sciences summarized the development work done at Metropolia within the XR-SPACE project.
