We saw AWE as a great opportunity to familiarize ourselves with the latest innovations and technologies in the field of XR, especially from our viewpoint as simulator developers. The event provided an excellent opportunity for us to connect with people who are advancing research and innovation in the field.
For us, attending the expo was a four-day visit in Vienna, and we arrived on Monday to prepare our joint booth with our exhibition partners. The event itself started on Tuesday morning lasting till Wednesday evening. Our time was mostly spent on exploring what other exhibitors had to offer and presenting how we leverage XR to enhance our simulator interactivity. We also attended interesting presentations and demos about the latest developments in the field.
We had a really good time attending AWE this year and we met a lot of interesting people from all around the world. People visiting our booth felt genuinely curious about what we do, and other exhibitors always welcomed us warmly to see what they had to offer.
Key takeaways
For us the highlights of the expo were to see XR technologies being utilized for training purposes and how the solutions could be integrated to training simulators. We saw a lot of promising hardware from cutting edge AR solutions to even more refined virtual reality gear.
As software developers, we also closely observed the latest available software tools to speed up our development and to create new XR experiences. In the end, it was interesting to see latest technologies being used on such a wide range of applications across completely different industries from video games to medical field.
People visiting our booth were really interested in how we combine XR technologies with industrial training simulators and how it can significantly enhance the training experience. We had a lot of interesting conversations regarding the topics of our XR-SPACE research goals and how we could improve the usability of our training simulators.
After the event, we felt that we delivered a unique perspective on how to use XR outside of typical entertainment use cases, on more industry focused applications.
