VRinSight is about educating higher education teachers about Virtual Reality (VR) in multi-user, social VR. This project tells you everything you need to know about applying VR in education.

About VRinSight?

VRinSight aims to usher in VR technology across the institutes of higher education by achieving the following objectives…..

  • Identifying the challenges faced by the SMEs of Europe and the current deficiencies of the Higher Education in relation to VR technology
  • Spearheading a VR training programme for Educators and SMEs in the application of VR technology in Business Management
  • Increasing awareness of VR technology across Higher Education and Business in Europe and develop methods of integrating VR learning into Higher education Curriculum

Recent developments in VR technology have already begun to reshape the world of business and industry of tomorrow. For European SMEs to remain on the competitive edge, the next generation of business graduates will need to be educated on the capabilities of VR technology. Is Higher Education in Europe ready to embrace the potential of VR technology?

VRinSight is a european partnership from industry and education, co-funded by the Erasmus Plus programme. The project running from Oct 2018 until Sept 2019 includes partners from Germany, Austria, Spain, Finland, Belgium and Cyprus delivering real value to Higher Education and the SMEs of Europe.

Fachhochschule des Mittelstands – Berlin

FHM Berlin is part of the Fachhochschule des Mittelstands,  a private, state accredited University of Applied Sciences based in Bielefeld, Germany.  About 5.000 FHM students are enrolled in 50 Bachelors and Masters as well as Pre-Studies- programmes. More than 500 students come from abroad.

University of Nicosia

The University of Nicosia is the largest university in Cyprus, with its main campus located in Nicosia. The University has 12,000+ enrolled students from 70+ countries studying on its Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degree programmes, that are delivered by its 6 schools.

Katholieke Universiteit Leuven

The Katholieke Universiteit Leuven is a research university in the Dutch-speaking Flanders, Belgium. It conducts teaching, research, and services in the sciences, engineering, humanities, medicine, law, and social sciences. The faculty  of Engineering Technology is based in the town of Ghent.

Wakeone

Wakeone is a finnish SME software company specialized in the combination of Virtual Reailty and Augmented Reality, so called XR technology. The company focuses on developing VR training applications and XR platforms that enable social interaction and multi-user collaboration.

Tampere University

Tampere University of Technology was Finland’s second-largest university in engineering sciences, located in Hervanta, a suburb of Tampere. The institute was recently merged with the University of Tampere, and now encompasses over 30,000 students.
