This year, the Social Psychology Days brought a record number of researchers and professionals in the field to Tampere. At the same time, the 60th anniversary of social psychology at Tampere University was celebrated under the theme The Boundaries and Societal Impact of Social Psychology: how scientific knowledge can be used to create change in individuals, groups, organizations, and society more broadly.
In their presentation Teija Ahopelto (w/ Simon Magnusson and Melisa Stevanovic), discussed the dynamics of legal and moral framing in conflict situations between police officers and activists. The central question was: How is moral responsibility constructed, and whose actions are framed as wrong?
