From April 17th to 19th, TAPRI, in collaboration with the Peace Education Institute (RKI), hosted the kickoff meeting of PeaceEdu, setting the stage for an inspiring beginning of the project. Around thirty partners joined us in Finland from thirteen esteemed institutions (HEIs and NGOs) across Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, Germany, Austria, and Finland.
The gathering was more than just a formal commencement; it provided space for forging meaningful connections and laying the foundation for impactful change. While the project management had already started in January maintaining communication through online platforms, the in-person meeting provided an opportunity for stakeholders to come together, exchange ideas, and set the stage for collaborative efforts. It provided a vital platform for stakeholders to delve into the intricacies of the PeaceEdu Project, discussing key strategies and charting the course for its successful implementation. By fostering an environment of trust and cooperation, the meeting cultivated the seeds of robust teamwork and solidarity among partners.
At its core, the PeaceEdu Project aims to foster sustainable practices of peace in Ukraine, Georgia, and Moldova. Through empowering higher educational institutions in these countries to embrace multi-disciplinary peace education and peace studies, the project seeks to address the complex peace and security challenges facing the Eastern Partnership countries (UA, GE, MD).
As we embark on this transformative journey, we are excited to share our progress and insights with you. Stay tuned as we navigate the path towards successful implementation of the project.
PeaceEdu is generously funded by the European Union. TAPRI serves as the coordinator of the project.
