The meeting opened with welcoming remarks from the university leadership, followed by an insightful contribution from Prof. Viola Georgi on diversity and democracy education. Over the following days, each country team presented their piloted courses, shared progress, and discussed future plans. The project partners also worked intensively on designing the cross-regional PeaceEdu course and, through a participatory workshop, thoroughly explored peace education fields, teaching approaches, and new ways of bringing critical perspectives that the course should focus on.
A special highlight was Frans Kruger’s thought-provoking lecture, which offered new perspectives on multiperspectivity, public encounters, and reimagining critical peace education.
Another important part of the meeting were the sessions on sustainability and visibility of project results, where partners jointly planned long-term impact and the path toward the final conference in Georgia next year.
Beyond the formal sessions, partners enjoyed exploring Hildesheim, engaging in informal conversations and discussions, and building even stronger cooperation within the network.
A big thank you to the University of Hildesheim team for hosting so warmly and to all partners for their committed work and motivation. The next stages of PeaceEdu look promising — and we are moving forward together.
