Fostering Participation in Action Research to Develop an Online Bereavement Support Application to Support Bereaved Parents after the Traumatic Death of Their Child.

Project involving multiple disciplines and views, such as social work, nursing, and digital health.

Introduction

“Every day, far too many parents are facing the trauma of losing their children, sometimes even before their first breath,” said Vidhya Ganesh, UNICEF Director of the Division of Data Analytics, Planning and Monitoring (UNICEF, 2023).

PCARE is a multidisciplinary project that combines qualitative and quantitative research to better understand parents after the traumatic death of a child, leading to the development of an online grief support system.
