The MIRO team has demonstrated its remote operation technologies in three events. The demos were shown at IEEE MMSP 2021 international hybrid conference, FIMA demo day, and in the XR Aamu event. In-person participants in all events had the chance to test the remote operation of Avant’s wheel loader.
The wheel loader was equipped with several cameras and a computing platform to allow the users to operate it remotely over 5G network based on the combined video streams. The operator side was equipped with stereoscopic 3D display, a 360° bird’s-eye view and game pad interface.
