The event brought together early career researchers, students and experts working on next generation photovoltaic technologies, including organic and hybrid solar cells, perovskites, dye solar cells, graphene and other emerging materials for energy applications. For the MENTOR fellows, ISOPHOS offered an excellent opportunity to deepen their scientific knowledge, exchange ideas with leading researchers and broaden their understanding of the latest developments in the field. The programme combined expert lectures, hands-on sessions and opportunities for participants to present their own research, creating a dynamic environment for learning, discussion and collaboration.
Beyond the scientific programme, the event was a valuable moment for the MENTOR network as a community. It was especially nice to meet all 17 Doctoral Candidates in person and spend time together outside the usual online and project meeting settings. These shared moments helped strengthen connections across the network and created space for informal discussions, peer support and new ideas.
The setting in Talamone made the experience even more memorable. The venue provided an inspiring atmosphere close to nature, the weather was wonderful throughout the week, and the food was excellent. Together, these elements created a welcoming and energising environment for both scientific exchange and community building.
Participation in ISOPHOS 2026 was an important opportunity for the MENTOR fellows to grow as researchers, connect with the wider photovoltaic community and further strengthen the collaborative spirit of the project. The week in Talamone will be remembered not only for its high quality scientific content, but also for the inspiring surroundings and the sense of togetherness among the fellows.
