Project Meaningful coherent curriculum and teaching materials for literature education is led by PI Kaisu Rättyä (Tampere University).
The objective of project is to establish a foundation for a meaningful and coherent curriculum for literature education, which emphasises the agency of readers, and to propose teaching materials. The foundation for project are the principles of curriculum coherence and narrative agency theory. The focus is on students’ agency, literacy experiences and the development of readers throughout their school years. The project synthesises analyses of contemporary teaching materials for literature education from the first to the 12th grade.
