Companies in the textile and clothing sector in Tampere Region have recognised the need to introduce new digital solutions to promote new business. The needs vary depending on the company’s operations, size, positioning in the market and/or the manufacturing technology it uses. The actions of the project help companies in the textile and clothing sector in the Tampere Region to develop new, responsible business models based on digitalisation.
The project targets small and medium-sized enterprises in the textile and clothing sector and digitalisation in Tampere Region. The activities in the project include co-development workshops, interviews and focus group discussions, surveys, demonstrations and pilots, as well as drafting a playbook for developing responsibility.
Objectives
The project has five objectives 1) To find out the needs and opportunities of companies in the textile and clothing sector in Tampere Region to utilise digitalisation, automation and robotics in the company’s product development and promotion of responsibility 2) To develop the competitiveness of companies in the textile and clothing sector in Tampere Region, and to internationalise them towards a low-carbon data economy, 3) To support the development of responsibility work of micro and small- and medium-sized enterprises in the textile sector 4) To identify new business opportunities related to digital product passport, sharing economy and circular economy , 5) To strengthen the value network of the textile and clothing sector in Tampere Region and companies in the digitalisation, automation and robotics sectors, as well as universities in the region.
