During the second meeting in HCMC, Viet Nam in February 2020 we gathered together to learn about ICT, project administration and had training on pre-pregnancy and pregnancy in 3-day-workshops.
See the whole program here!
The meeting started with 2 days of ICT-workshops (13.-14.2.) learning new ICT-skills such as how to use H5P. After the weekend we continued with project group meetings (17.-18.2.). We had many new participants in this meeting, that’s why we started by describing the project design and processes. Each partner university started planning guidelines for midwifery practices, the quality assurance plan for training curriculum in Midwifery, and dissemination the guidelines through training of trainers workshop. We started on orientation to Full scope Midwifery care Handbook.
After the meetings we continued with Workshops (19.-21.2.) where hospital midwives and lecturers were invited. We brainstormed issues of preconception health, normal pregnancy, risks in pregnancy, promoting normal process during childbirth, safe skin-to-skin contact, pedagogics and care in participating countries. We also talked much about the needs for future and spent lots of time for questions and discussions. Pedagogics and research skills training continued (24.-25.2.) with midwife lecturers during the last week.
Here we are learning about physiological positions during 2nd stage of labour. We find that fun helps to remember important things and to learn. During this week, the audience had lots of fun around serious business.
Here is one example of many Facebook posts during this week. We got many new followers and Facebook exploded with liking and sharing. WHO recommendations and ICM competencies were much liked alongside with new material for hospitals in Vietnamese and Khmer (Cambodia) made by midwife students in Finland. Make sure to follow our Facebook page (4Steps).
We all had a great time and we are very thankful to our wonderful hosts in UMP, HCMC. You took such good care of us! We are looking forward to the next step, which is in Phnom Penh in Cambodia!
