Kick Off Meeting, Tampere, Finland, November 2019

KICK OFF WEEK 25.-29.11.2019 at Tampere University of Applied Sciences, Finland

We had a successful project kick off week in Tampere, Finland orientating ourselves to the new project, working on the communication and the goals for different work packages. We had presentations by the partners: learning to know the co-operating universities and their main goals in the project. We learned about the structure and timeline of the project and how to communicate effectively between meetings. In addition we clarified the roles and responsibilities in the project. We had orientation to the development work packages, tasks and responsibilities for the working between the meetings and planned the schedule for the entire project. Finally, we planned the dissemination work package together and learned about the dissemination guidelines from EU.

Study visits; pedagogics and services

We visited two skills training sessions – childbirth outside the hospital and how to care for a newborn during the first hours after birth. We also made study visits to Tampere Centre for Skills Training and Simulation, the new University hospital and the public health care maternity clinic. We also learned about health care in Finland.

This was a very fruitful and hardworking week. We reached the goals for this kick off week, and best of all; learned to know each other and made a good start to enhance midwife education for healthier babies, families and nations. See you in the next meeting in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in February 2020!
