The project participated in the World Water Forum which is organized by the World Water Council and, this year, the Republic of Indonesia. The Forum took place in Bali on 18-25 May.

The Forum is the largest international gathering in the water sector involving stakeholders from different areas, including politics, multilateral institutions, academia, civil society, and the private sector. For our research project, it is important to understand the global discourses and initiatives on water in order to analyze how these globalized dynamics play out in the contexts under our research: Northern Finland and Central Asia. Out of the Forum’s sub-themes, the project specifically paid attention to the events of “Water for humans and nature” and “Sustainable water finance”. These directly speak to the research project’s interest in posthumanism and political economies of water.
