The project team continues working on planning of the training programme

Based on training needs identified in the first project phase, the project team continues working on designing the training programme for the IUG teaching staff. A smaller working group was appointed to develop the main themes of the training and the training activities. In regular online meetings, the working group has been discussing ways to address the identified training needs of IUG teaching staff while providing a comprehensive training on university pedagogy. Training schedule and specific assignments for the participants were also discussed.

The training will begin in August 2018 and it will combine online webinars with individual and group assignments for the training participants. The working group is discussing which online learning platforms will be used besides Moodle.

The main themes that the training will cover are:

  1. Student learning and engagement,
  2. Designing learning processes and environments,
  3. Special features of teaching at university,
  4. Expertise in academic teaching in higher education, and
  5. Online environments and tools.

Eighteen academics at IUG were selected to participate in the first phase of training (training of trainers). The selection process ensured equal gender and faculty representation. The project team will organise an introductory online meeting with all participants and IUG representatives on 9.5.2018.
