Research

Do you want to participate in the research? We are looking for adults from Malmö area to participate in watching a 3D video and the measurement of emotional responses during the video. More information about the course of the study and the link to register below.

We are looking for participants for a study that will find out how people in diversifying cities live together.

The research measures emotional responses of the participant, while they watch the 360-video with virtual glasses. The video is filmed by the project and it illustrates the ordinary everyday life in an urban environment.

The emotional responses are measured through heart rate, activation of facial muscles and electrical conductivity of the skin. The measurement is conducted through sensors attached to the skin, which are located in the face area and upper body (under the clavicles and above the hip bones). The electrical conductivity of the skin is measured with a sensor that is attached with Velcro around the index and ring finger.

After the measurement, we ask the participants to rate the video they watched and ask a few interview questions. The length of the entire visit is about 2 hours.

The researcher is in the research space with the participant throughout the measurement.

All data and information is strictly confidential. Participant’s identity is not known to anyone outside the research team. Name or personal details are kept separately from the data gathered through measuring. Participants cannot be identified from this research. The participant can stop the measurement at any point without penalty.

The measurements take place in Malmö, in the local meeting place Nobel 21 address Nobelvägen 21-23. You may participate to the research if:

  • you understand Swedish, because the video you watch is in Swedish
  • you are over 18
  • you do not have a pacemaker, as the study measures heart rate variability
  • you do not have a hearing or vision impairment that prevents you from following and perceiving the events in the video
  • you live in Malmö

As a reward for the participation, the participant receives a Malmö city gift card (value 400 SEK).
