EUGenDem researchers will be participating and presenting in the Finnish Gender Studies Conference 2020 ‘Reclaiming Futures’, Tampere 12-13 November 2020.
Our panel on ‘Gender+ Equality, Politics, and Institutions’ (chaired by Petra Ahrens and Barbara Gaweda) engages with contemporary changes and challenges in gender equality+ across Europe, focusing on different levels of governance as well as different political, institutional, and societal actors. The core questions are: What are the current changes in European gender equality+ politics? When, how, and by whom are gender and sexuality rights challenged or promoted? What strategies do feminist and equality activists employ in dealing with threats to democracy and opposition to gender equality policies? How and to what extent do changes in the political context influence gendered norms and practices in politics and society?
