EUGenDem workshop: Gender, party politics, and democracy in Europe: Studying European Parliament’s political groups

This November, take a sneak peak into our project findings and join us for a discussion of our research!

A unique opportunity for a virtual workshop when we presented an overview of the findings of the EUGenDem project to our scientific expert board.

Over the past three years we have been analysing the gendered practices and policies of the political groups of the European Parliament. In this session, we provide a comprehensive overview of, first, how policies of the political groups (including violence, economic, social policy) are gendered mapping across the policy fields what this means for the political groups. Second, we discuss how political group practices are gendered, focusing especially on populism, intersectionality and racism, and on the ethnographic insights from our research material. We evaluate the significance of the findings for democratic practices and politics of Europe.
