On behalf of ESTV project and academic partners (Aalto University and VTT), It is a great pleasure to organize the Midway Seminar ” Intelligent Techniques in Condition Monitoring of Electromechanical Energy Conversion Systems”, which was held on Friday, January 13, 2023, at Tampere University (Hervanta Campus), Finland.
The seminar was organized and hosted by Innovative Hydraulics and Automation (IHA) at Tampere University (TAU), Finland.
Condition monitoring of electromechanical energy conversion systems, such as electric vehicles, wind turbines, or hydraulic units, is of great significance. A failure in any part of the system can incur considerable economical losses or might endanger the safety of the humans and the environment. To automate the condition monitoring of these systems, high-dimensional non-linear models such as artificial deep neural networks, random forests, or networked exponential families are investigated. These methods are generally data-hungry, however, intelligent techniques such as transfer learning and data augmentation are applied to overcome these challenges.
ESTV research project concentrates on developing modern artificial intelligence-based methods for condition monitoring of electro-hydraulic systems. To ensure safe and efficient operation of these systems, it is essential to predict their incipient faulty operations at an early stage.
In seminar you will learn:
-
The challenges of implementing condition monitoring in electro-hydraulic systems
-
How to minimize the use of sensors?
-
The advantages of data collection and cloud storage usage
-
How robust are simulation models to generate real data ?
