About me

 Prof. T. Minav, (PI, D.Sc. (Tech.)) is part of the IHA-Innovative hydraulics and Automation unit at Tampere University/Finland. She has received a Doctor of Science degree (D.Sc.) from Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT) in 2011. She is an expert in electro-hydrostatic systems and actuators, cylinder’s sensorless position motion control, simulation, energy balance, and energy recovery systems in non-road mobile machinery. During her academic career, she worked and lead industrial projects funded by Business Finland (former Tekes) and by the Academy of Finland) related to the electrification of off-road machinery and its implements.

Prof. Dr. L. Papini is working in the Department of Energy, Process, and System Engineering, University of Pisa, Italy. His principal research interest lies in electromagnetic energy conversion in electrical machines and drives, focusing mainly on more-electric transport. The design of high speed and high-power density electrical machines and developing analytical tools for the multi-physics (thermal, mechanical, rotor-dynamics) design of enhanced capabilities machines for the aerospace industry and in energy recovery systems are the main topics researched over 10 years. The purpose of the mobility stay (up to 6 months) at the University of Pisa is to get into close cooperation with this research group and to conduct in-depth research on the modeling and control of electric motors. The exchange of knowledge with this research group will benefit the EMMA2 project.

About me

Prof. Katharina Schmitz is lead professor at RWTH Aachen University, Germany since in 2018. She earned a Ph.D. degree from Institute for Fluid Power Drives and Systems (IFAS) from Aachen University. She also has experience in the industry with Hungernmaschinen GmbH. Her principal research interest concentrated on design, simulation, and novel hydraulic systems. The exchange of knowledge with this top research group will benefit the EMMA2 project by strengthening our knowledge in the area of mobile hydraulics. The purpose of the mobility stay (up to 6 months) at RWTH Aachen University is to get into close cooperation with this top research group in hydraulics.
