About me

Rosa Maria Ballardini (eColabor PI) is a professor of intellectual property law and vice dean of research at the University of Lapland, Faculty of Law. Her research interests lie at the intersection of law, technology and sustainability. She also investigates the role of power relationships and power asymmetries in IPR and innovation, as well as issues related to the use of law to foster inclusion and participation in decision-making processes. She has
written extensively and led several multidisciplinary consortia on these topics in various technological contexts.

Her research approach is multidisciplinary, combining law and technology, business, and ethics, using different types of methodologies (e.g. traditional legal research methods, empirical methods, and design thinking in legal studies). Rosa is the Chair of the Board of the IPR University Center, member of the Board of the Finnish Association for Industrial Property Rights (STY), and a vice-member of the Finnish Copyright Council.

About me

Dhanay Cadillo Chandler (ULAP), is a Docent in Intellectual Property Law at the Faculty of Law – Lapland University and is also affiliated to the University of Turku. She holds a PhD from Hanken School of Economics, where she explored through a comparative study the model for IPR protection in South America. Her current research focuses on the intersection between IPRs and sustainability, thus looking into different governance models, and multistakeholder collaboration. Her scholarship advocates for balanced approaches to IPR protection, access, and interpretation of IPR exceptions. She is currently working in the eColabor project, funded by the Research Council of Finland. This particular project examines existing tension from the law and innovation management perspective. She has vast teaching experience in International Trade, IPRs, and Comparative Research Law

About me

Anwar Al-Hamidi is an Iraq-qualified lawyer and Doctoral Researcher at the University of Lapland, specializing in Ecosystem Data Governance, Digital Economy Regulation, and Sustainability Transitions. His research focuses on legal frameworks governing data sharing, privacy, and innovation, particularly the GDPR, Data Governance Act, Open Data Directive, and Data Act, to explore how they foster open innovation, multi-stakeholder collaboration, and sustainability in the circular economy. His doctoral research specifically examines the legal tensions between data ownership, privacy protection, and governance structures in digital and sustainability-oriented ecosystems.

Doctoral researcher at the Industrial Engineering and Management unit, faculty of management and business.

As part of the eColabor project, my research focuses on sustainability-oriented business ecosystem governance and the circular economy. I am part of the CITER research group (Center for Innovation and Technology Research).
