Call for Papers: Conference on Technology Ethics

The DIG1t0 project is a co-organizer of Conference on Technology Ethics (TETHICS) that will be held at Tampere University on 6 – 7 November 2024. TETHICS provides a platform for presenting and discussing theoretical and applied research on ethics and information technology.

The key aim of TETHICS2024 is to provide researchers and other stakeholders a casual and relaxed environment to present research, discuss ethical challenges and opportunities related to information systems, and to network beyond the borders of academia.

TETHICS2024 calls for papers that present scientific and/or practical contributions on topics and themes related to information systems and ethics broadly construed. Suitable topics and themes include but are not limited to:

  • Data and AI ethics
  • Ethical design of information systems
  • Ethics in software development
  • Philosophical foundations of the ethics of information systems
  • Technology ethics in specific application domains (e.g., education, medicine, military)
  • Ethics of automation and digitalization
  • Business ethics and technology ethics
  • Teaching technology ethics
  • Ethical regulation and governance of information systems

TETHICS2024 accepts two types of papers:

  • Short papers (5-9 pages and 2500 to 4000 words, including references)
  • Long papers (10-15 pages and 5000 to 7500 words, including references

Papers should be submitted through EasyChair carefully following the required format and other instructions. Submitted papers will go through a double-blind review process.

Deadline for submissions: 14 April 2024
Notification of acceptance: 5 May 2024
Deadline for camera-ready versions: 2 June 2024
