First COFIRD Consortium Meeting Held in Hyvinkää, Finland
The first consortium meeting of the COFIRD project took place on February 6, 2025, at the Konecranes office in Hyvinkää, Finland. The first meeting of the COFIRD Project included its partners: 3D Talo, KONE, Tampere University, Konecranes, and CityNomadi. The project members discussed project progress, shared updates, and planned future teamwork.
During the meeting, members talked about important topics. One major point was the partnership with Indian universities like Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore and Woxen University, Hyderabad. The team is working on contract agreements with these universities and looking for more partners in Mumbai, Delhi, and Pune to expand the project in India.
Another important update came from KONE. It has started an innovation unit in India to develop new ideas and solutions for the local market. This unit will work closely with the research and development (R&D) team to understand local needs and develop innovative practices and processes.
The meeting also included plans for a hackathon, which is planned to take place in late 2025 or early 2026. This event will involve Demola and other partners to encourage innovation and problem-solving ideas. The team also discussed the possibility of conducting a campus study at Vellore Institute of Technology to strengthen the project’s connection with the university.
The next steps include finalizing agreements, planning the hackathon, and strengthening partnerships with Indian universities.
