As part of the ongoing COFIRD – Co-creation for Finnish-Indian R&D project’s India tour, representatives of the COFIRD consortium participated in the Education Delegation event hosted at the Embassy of Finland in New Delhi. The event was organized under the patronage of Ambassador Kimmo Lähdevirta and brought together key Finnish and Indian stakeholders from academia, industry and government.

The COFIRD delegation comprised members from Tampere University, including Biju Thankachan and the project lead, as well as representatives from KONE (Hanna Heinonen), Konecranes (Totti Berg) and Demola (Jere Wessman). Their participation aligned closely with the project’s objective of strengthening cooperation between Finnish and Indian higher education institutions and industry partners.

The event provided a strategic platform for dialogue on emerging opportunities in joint research, innovation exchange and educational collaboration. Engagements with leaders from universities, technology companies and ecosystem partners underscored the strong mutual interest in advancing Finnish-Indian cooperation in high-impact areas of development.

The COFIRD consortium values the continued support of the Embassy of Finland in facilitating meaningful interactions that contribute to long-term partnerships. The event marked another significant step toward enhancing bilateral collaboration and fostering new initiatives within the COFIRD framework.
