COFIRD Team Explores Digital Agriculture Innovations at University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore

As part of the COFIRD – Co-creation for Finnish-Indian R&D project’s India tour, representatives from COFIRD, Tampere University, and KONE visited the University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Bangalore. The delegation included Hanna Heinonen, Gururaj P. Mahajan, Gokul Ramalingam, and the COFIRD project lead.

The visit focused on digitalization in agriculture, with a special emphasis on emerging technologies such as auto-steering tractors and drones for various agricultural applications. The team explored how these innovations work together to enable seamless automation, enhancing productivity and efficiency in modern farming practices.

Delegates also toured UAS Bangalore’s expansive campus, witnessing the university’s advanced facilities and research infrastructure. The COFIRD team expressed gratitude to Vice Chancellor S. V. Suresha, Professor Sheshshayee Sreeman, and Professor Prasanna Kumar for their warm hospitality and for facilitating an engaging and informative visit.

The meeting highlighted the potential for Finnish-Indian collaboration in agri-tech research, promoting knowledge exchange and co-innovation in smart agriculture solutions.
