Promoting circularity and sustainability for the construction and real estate sector (CircBuild) is a two year project that starts in January 2025. It is co-partnered by Tampere University and Häme University of Applied Sciences HAMK.

Background

The construction industry consumes a huge amount of raw materials and is one of the largest
sources of greenhouse gas emissions worldwide. New circular economy and sustainable
solutions are urgently needed so that the industry can reduce material consumption and waste
and lower its emissions.

Goal

The project, in cooperation with the Finnish real estate and construction industry, implements a number of pilots in which new circular economy solutions and methods are tested. In addition to the pilots, the project includes workshop and seminar cooperation with companies.

Impact

The project also supports general knowledge of the field in the area of
educational cooperation. The results and information of the project will be distributed in three
webinars and the Frush circular economy event.
