The CAREFIT project was presented at the opening seminar of the Sport Science and Physical Activity Academy Programme (ACTIVE) organized by the Research Council of Finland, held on 26.11.2024, at Hotel Haaga Central Park in Helsinki. The theme of the opening seminar, held in conjunction with Liikuntalääketieteen päivät, was “Tomorrow’s Sport Science Research,” aiming to spark discussions on new research questions and directions in physical activity research, particularly related to new technologies. The seminar audience included e.g. researchers interested in physical activity research and supporters of the research.
During the opening seminar, research projects funded in the first call of the Sport Science and Physical Activity Academy Programme were presented to the audience. The funded research projects seek solutions to societal and public health challenges related to physical activity, exercise, and sports. The CAREFIT project was presented by the principal investigators Professor Jenni Kulmala from Tampere University and Research Manager Tiia Ngandu from the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare.
