Over the contest, we witnessed incredible creativity, groundbreaking ideas, and remarkable solutions from all participants. Your dedication and hard work, along with the contribution of our wonderful Panel of Experts truly made this contest a success.
From among the very impressive competition, a group with the innovation Shell’s Haven emerged as the winner of the Innovation Contest. Ingeniously, Shell’s Haven offers a new, reusable egg carton concept to revolutionize a long-established packaging. In the BioPak-project, we have the pleasure of moving forward into the consumer pilot with this packaging innovation!
All in all, here is a list of all the brilliant innovations materialising from the Green Pack Hack:
- ReBox – A concept, which attempts to decrease packaging waste with reusable, recyclable and adaptively foldable packaging.
- RePaploop – An in-store, deposit-based refill system where customers use reusable packaging
- ZAPP Box – This idea addresses the packaging waste problem with foldable, reusable, biodegradable and recyclable packaging.
- PackIt4Ward – offers a business model, which transforms waste wood fibre packaging into new products through a process driven by a mobile app.
- GreenWrap – A concept based on the idea of reusable, standardised wood fibre packaging as such.
- Shell’s Haven – This innovation consists of cleaning and reuse-based, fibre-based egg packing system that works with a return and refill cartridge system
All of these concepts work to promote sustainable packaging industry and bio-circularity. They demonstrate exceptional ingenuity and have the potential to make a significant impact on the sustainable packaging industry. As mentioned, Shell’s Haven be further developed as part the consumer pilot carried out in the BioPak project.
