AITO project is implemented in finnish, but here is short description also in english.
Businesses and public organizations in the Satakunta region face challenges in adopting AI-
based technologies. A lack of expertise, unclear development paths, and uncertainty about
the profitability of investments prevent companies from taking advantage of AI’s opportunities.
Additionally, local business networks need to be strengthened so that companies can better
share knowledge and collaborate effectively.
The main goal and outcome of this project is to develop an AI learning environment and value
network tailored to the needs of Satakunta’s businesses and organizations. These will support
the ability of local companies to utilize AI-based technologies. Within the learning environment,
businesses can assess their AI-related skill gaps using a self-assessment tool and develop their
expertise through practical and easy-to-understand learning modules. These modules provide
concrete and applicable knowledge about AI. The project will also establish a collaboration
network that strengthens Satakunta’s innovation ecosystem, enhances cooperation among
regional actors, helps businesses find development partners for AI projects, and offers support
and real-world examples of how AI can be applied to business and public services. To introduce
companies and organizations to the learning environment and value network, the project will
provide free technology demonstration days, workshops, and hands-on support for using the
platform.
With this new and permanent AI learning environment, businesses can systematically develop
their AI skills over the long term. Overall, the project promotes AI adoption in local businesses
and organizations, improving their competitiveness and resource efficiency. In the long run,
the project will significantly contribute to the region’s economic vitality and workforce skills.
Increased AI expertise will enhance companies’ ability to innovate and grow, creating new
business opportunities and jobs. Additionally, the learning environment will remain available
for businesses even after the project ends, providing a sustainable solution for developing AI
expertise in the region.
