Introducing Turo Välikangas

Turo Välikangas: "AI Champion combines AI agents with the digital thread of our products to revolutionize the building industry."

Next from the AI Champion Team we'd like to introduce Koja Oy's Head of Digitalization Turo Välikangas, who is the Project Manager of both Koja's and sister company Chiller's AI Champion project. Their task is to produce structured product data about the building services system's devices they manufacture, and to provide this data to the relevant stakeholders through various interfaces. Enabling the seamless flow of building services system data has a significant impact on the building’s lifecycle costs for all stakeholders involved in the different stages of construction!

Thinking about AI Champion’s future, Turo is excited for the opportunity to do science again! “It has been a few years since my own doctoral dissertation project, so I can’t wait for us to dive into the world of AI agents and data through a new dissertation and other research together with the universities!”
“Our task at the starting point of the information flow is to ensure that the data about the devices we manufacture can be transferred in a structured format through interfaces to the stakeholders who need it at every stage of the construction. Whereas previously people looked at PDF documents, in the future an AI agent will summarize the essential information about the devices into a form that humans need.”
In the Business Finland funded AI Champion Co-Innovation project, we aim to find out the design and construction challenges in Building Services and create a 100 AI Agents to solve these challenges and enhance the supply chains. Co-operators and funders in AI Champion are Tampere University, University of Oulu, Granlund, Fira, Koja Chiller, ETS NORD, Kiilto, GF BFS, Nimlas, LVI-INFO, Sähköteknisen Kaupan Liitto ry and Airlyse.
