Introducing Harri Haapasalo

Harri Haapasalo: "Creating a unified product architecture for building services enables high-quality product data to be utilized throughout the entire project lifecycle."

Our next project team member is Professor Harri Haapasalo from the University of Oulu, who is the responsible leader of the Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) Research Unit in Oulu. Their tasks include productizing building services technology and analyzing the real impacts of digitalization on value creation and business transformation.

Harri is most looking forward to ways that ensure that data flows systematically throughout the entire process – high in quality and available to those who need it – without requiring separate transfers.
“Through productization, I want to create a model for the product architecture of building services technology, so that product data can be linked to the products and their components and then utilized in the implementation process. With genuinely high-quality data, the benefits accumulate in both the planning and execution of the production process—not to mention the advantages in use and maintenance.”
In the Business Finland funded AI Champion Co-Innovation project, we aim to find out the design and construction challenges in Building Services and create a 100 AI Agents to solve these challenges and enhance the supply chains. Co-operators and funders in AI Champion are Tampere University, University of Oulu, Granlund, Fira, Koja Chiller, ETS NORD, Kiilto, GF BFS, Nimlas, LVI-INFO, Sähköteknisen Kaupan Liitto ry and Airlyse.
