Introducing Aleksi Kähärä

Aleksi Kähärä: "Through multidisciplinary collaboration, we can achieve breakthroughs that benefit the entire industry. The productivity leap enabled by AI technlogies is well worth pursuing."

Apart from the organisations that have their own projects in AI Champion, we also have seven companies that fund and guide us. First, we'd like to introduce Development manager Aleksi Kähärä from ETS NORD, who is one of the leading manufacturers of ventilation products in the Nordic countries.

They design, manufacture, and supply a wide range of products for ventilation as well as fire and smoke control systems. At ETS NORD, Aleksi is responsible for the development of the Recair air handling unit product group. He has also been involved in several digitalization initiatives, as he believes there is still significant untapped potential in our industry.

“The AI hype needs to turn into practical tools for a true transformation to happen. Instead of waiting to see how the technology develops, we want to take an active role in shaping how it is applied.

We are not focusing only on predefined goals; rather, we aim to build the capabilities needed to take advantage of the breakthroughs AI can enable. Nordic HVAC engineering is already among the best in the world—now we also have the opportunity to become a leader in applying AI across the HVAC industry.”

In the Business Finland funded AI Champion Co-Innovation project, we aim to find out the design and construction challenges in Building Services and create a 100 AI Agents to solve these challenges and enhance the supply chains. Co-operators and funders in AI Champion are Tampere University, University of Oulu, Granlund, Fira, Koja Chiller, ETS NORD, Kiilto, GF BFS, Nimlas, LVI-INFO, Sähköteknisen Kaupan Liitto ry and Airlyse.
